April 7th - The New Shoes

Beautiful day today.  Had one of the momments as I finished my run (11 miles recovery run 8:00 min/mile);  I was doing my little "victory loop" around our little compund which I do to get the full 11 miles in as my run course is only 10.6 miles, and Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" started playing on the iPod.  I actually looked up and saw skies of blue and clouds of white.  There was a light breeze and temps were in the 70's.  For a momment I could have been anywhere and all seemed right with the world.  Definately nice to clear the head before heading into work.

The new shoes:  overall comfort great, stiffer than my Asics DS trainers but that was expected.  The only issue I have is that on the outside of my right ankle the shoe rubbed up against my ankle and basically rubbed my skin off.  Picts to follow.  I really like the shoes and hope this is not a deal breaker.  It is interesting that the right foot would strike dramatically different than the left.  Hmmm?  Is it me or the shoe.  I have no problems with any Asics but we shall see.  I'm going to let my ankle heal and give these suckers another go...

Hasta from IZ
